The Association and the State Customs Service of Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation

On March 24, 2020 Zagumenny Dmytro, General Director of the Association of Ukrainian fish and seafood Importers, and Maxim Nefedov, Head of the State customs service of Ukraine, signed a Memorandum of understanding and cooperation.
According to the Memorandum, the signatories undertake to cooperate by consulting and exchanging information on the current level of prices for goods (fish and seafood) that are imported into Ukraine, in order to avoid manipulation of the customs value and to eliminate shadow schemes for the import of goods into the customs territory of Ukraine.
The provision of information by the Association to the State Customs Service of Ukraine aims to:
- deepening of cooperation and establishment of constructive dialogue between business and the state;
- elimination of cases of underestimation of the tax base by economic entities and counteraction to evasion of payment of customs payments;
- assistance to the Service in controlling the correct determination of the customs value of goods and prevention of violations in the customs sphere.
