Meeting between the State Food and Consumer Service and the Association (UIFSA)

On December 4, 2020, a meeting was held between the State Food and Consumer Service and representatives of the Association of Ukrainian Importers of Fish and Seafood.
 
The event was attended by the Head of the State Food and Consumer Service Vladyslava Magaletska and the Deputy Head Olga Shevchenko.
 
The results of the European Union mission to assess the system of state control over the production of fish and fish products exported to the EU were discussed during the meeting.
 
"As a result of this mission, the European Union has requested a number of additional guarantees from the State Food and Consumer Service, which are strictly and will be observed when exporting products to the EU," said Vladislava Magaletskaya.
 
In addition, the mechanisms for regulating imports from other countries in connection with the changes in Ukrainian legislation in 2019 were also discussed.
 
In particular, the ongoing negotiations with China, Chile and South Korea on the import of fish from these countries in accordance with the new agreed forms of certificates were discussed.
General issues of import, export and production in general were also discussed.
 
Finally, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation between the State Food and Consumer Service, the Association and the State Fisheries Agency, and to fully support business in matters of import and export in international trade.
 
"I want to assure you that we will fully support Ukrainian business and promote its development in international markets," said the Head of the State Food and Consumer Service.
